(PRWEB) January 10, 2005 -- What: TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ easily connect to your TV or PC. In order to watch you must keep pedaling. Stop pedaling and the screen goes blank! Designed by a Long Island physician and engineer, the TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ give "couch potatoes" a chance to exercise while watching the screen.
How: TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ control the signals going to the TV or PC monitor.
Why: Sedentary lifestyles caused by sitting in front of television and computers are causing adults and children to gain weight and lose muscle tone. With the TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ you have to exercise in order to watch TV, play video games, surf the net or do any other computer activity while at work or play. No other device motivates you more!

Who: TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ are produced by D Squared Technologies, a New York technology firm. "’Just Say No, to the Couch Potato!’® is my motto," says inventor David Delman, MD.
Can TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ hurt my TV or PC? No, because they do not stop the power going to your device. The machines control only the video signals.
What’s different about TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™? While many people ride exercise bikes in front of the television, these new products keep viewers motivated to keep riding, and allow children to keep active while playing video games. They are compact, portable and easy to use. The TV Pedaler™ was semifinalist in Hammacher Schlemmer’s 2001 Search for Invention contest.
How can I get one? The TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ are available by mail order on the internet at www.tvpedaler.com. The TV Pedaler™ and PC Pedaler™ each cost $159.00. They weigh 18 lbs. and cost $25 for ground shipping.

TYTV Comments: This is an interesting idea. This device eliminates at least one of the problems with television. It should naturally limit television to about 2 hours per day, as I doubt many would be able to pedal for much longer.
There is another trick that you might try that does not require you to purchase this device. If you already have a stationary bike or treadmill, just make a commitment to only watch TV while you ride.
