Our mission is two-fold. First, we endeavor to call attention to the devastating impact of television upon individuals, families, and society. Second, we strive to provide simple, empowering solutions for people to reduce or eliminate their television habit.

This site does not discriminate against any racial, ethnic, political, religious, or social group. Although a wide range of religious and political groups are drawn to this issue and this site, we neither endorse nor discriminate against any one particular group. It is our position that television transcends these issues and negatively impacts all individuals, regardless of race, color, creed, or belief system.

Katherine Westphal

This website is primarily the creation of Katherine Westphal. Katherine has written the bulk of the content on the website and is the author of the books The Awful Truth About Television, The TV-Free Workbook - the central component of the TV-Free System, and A-Z to TV-Free, which are promoted on the site.

Katherine lives in Boulder, Colorado, USA with her three children.
