Those are magic words when it comes to children. Send your kids outside for some fresh air, sunshine, and lots of fun activity. One of the saddest developments of the age of television has been that kids are indoors so much. When they are old enough to entertain themselves, send them out with minimal supervision. Order them outside and they will find something to do. They will race and play tag. Or they will create their own wild and silly games.
During my early childhood I played outside often and have many memories of playing kickball in the street with the neighbors, playing “Ghost in the Graveyard" in the evenings, swinging on the tire swing in the back yard, and rolling down the hills. Just say, "Go outside and play." Their imaginations handle the rest.
