If you are a teacher or parent who would like to raise awareness about the effects of TV in the classroom, then these worksheets are for you. They take the complex issues surrounding the effects of television and present them in terms that young children can understand.
The worksheets are roughly divided by grade range. The K - 2 worksheets focus on drawing pictures. The worksheets for grades 3-6 involve writing and math skills. The 7th grade and higher worksheets involve critical analysis. Use the worksheets which best fit your students' level of achievement.
All of the worksheets encourage parental discussion.
All of the worksheets are free of charge, and teachers and parents may print multiple copies, so long as the worksheets are complete and unaltered and include the copyright information.

Worksheets for Students - Grades K-2
1. How much do I watch TV? This worksheet helps children become aware of how much time they watch TV. Children will log the amount of time that they watch TV for one week. Then a parent or teacher will help them tally the total amount of time.
2. TV and Reality. This worksheet encourages children to think about the difference between reality and what they may see on TV. It highlights the fact that TV programs often depict characters doing stunts that are impossible in real life. Children are encouraged to draw one such TV stunt and then draw what would happen in real life.
3. Nightmare TV: The effects of TV violence. This worksheet tackles the problem of TV violence from a child's perspective. Violence is scary! Children draw a scene from TV which they thought was scary and then with a parent's help, they write down how they felt when they watched it.
Worksheets for Students - Grades 3-6
